Dear Members and Friends of ADMA,

Happy New Year! Here's to a 2007 full of peace, online prosperity and faster download speeds... Who could have guessed that an earthquake off the coast of Taiwan would send the Internet back to 1999 levels?

2006 ended on a strong note for the ADMA, with more than 130 participants from around the region at our second annual digital marketing summit: Dig In To Digital, held in Hong Kong.

Representatives from Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, Starcom Mediavest Group and TribalDDB kicked the half day session off with an overview of digital marketing opportunities. Not surprisingly for the year that Time Magazine named "YOU" as person of the year -- in an era in which the individual is in control of what they see, experience, and share -- the hot buzz was about social networking, user generated content and the changing roles of online publishers, brands and individuals. Even as the rules of the game are changing, measurement and ROI remain important, with marketers holding the new medium as accountable as traditional media.

Break out sessions then focused on social advertising, insight marketing, building global Web sites, client and agency perspectives on Web site design, webinars, mobile, email marketing, and online ad measurement. And, after all the information and insight sharing, the networking began, with cocktails and early holiday cheer. We especially want to thank our event sponsors for making it all possible: DoubleClick, Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions, Yahoo! Hong Kong, WebDNA, Epsilon Interactive, The Hyperfactory, Ion Global, Premiere Global Services, as well as media partners DigitalMedia and SCMP.com.

We have a big 2007 lined up, with the publication of our first Asia Digital Marketing Yearbook slated for just after Chinese New Year, our annual digital marketing survey, and dozens of events. More details on the Yearbook can be found below in the Research section.

See you on line and IRL,

David Ketchum
Chairman
